Meet Partly Sunny, Cloudburst's new blog for founders
The startup support, advice, inspiration, and learning founders can now expect every week.
It's been a good year for Cloudburst in terms of finding ways to connect with founders old and new. This spring, we launched a totally new website that better reflects what we do—help non-technical founders with not just technology, but everything involved in starting and growing a successful company. On it, we featured the names, faces, and success stories of some of the founders we've worked with so that other founders might see them and be able to see themselves in their experiences too.
In the fall, we published our first founder guide, The Indie Founder Mindset: A Guide to Unlearning VC. It was borne out of a talk I've given many times over the years called Founder-Friendly Ways to Get Started, and it contains my most important startup advice. Over the years, I've come to the conclusion that at its core, entrepreneurship is really about mindset. The Indie Founder Mindset outlines the pillars of how I've seen successful founders think. Its wisdom might surprise you—it runs contrary to what the world of venture capital has led most of us to believe.
Today, in time for hibernation season, I'm proud to introduce Cloudburst's blog. Meet Partly Sunny, a way for Cloudburst to be in regular conversation with startup founders every week. For founders, we hope it'll be the channel you tune into whenever you're in need of a dose of startup support, advice, inspiration, or learning. From the Partly Sunny blog, you can expect to receive things like:
- Concrete actions for getting your startup to the next step,
- Guidance on making those big, tough decisions,
- Empathy for the temptations and frustrations of founder life,
- Explanations of all the wonderful innovations out there that make it so founders no longer have to be technical to succeed,
- And more, much more.
Almost four years ago when we were giving Cloudburst a name, we liked the fact that storms of epic proportions could spring from seemingly nothing, just like how companies—and the freedom and wealth that they generate—all start as mere ideas and dreams. In naming our blog, we chose Partly Sunny because while we are optimists, we wanted to acknowledge that being a founder has its own weather that includes plenty of clouds.
With Partly Sunny, we promise to be accurate, clear, and frank in our reports on entrepreneurship. By doing so, we hope Partly Sunny becomes a trusted source for finding founder help on the web.
